Time Well Spent

 I spent this labor day weekend  traveling to Canton Texas with my Dad, and my children. We drove over 5 hours to find treasures. The "First Monday Trade Days" takes place in Canton every month.  It is acres and acres of booths of anything and everything you can imagine.

 We each walked away pretty pleased with the treasure that we found.  I found the perfect set of canisters that I have been wanting, Caroline purchased a wall plaque for her room and a few other odds and ends, Zachary found a booth that had NFL trade cards and they just  happened to have the Peyton Manning card that he has been trying to find. Pappy purchased Zachary his first Case knife (apparently every boy needs a knife.) Don't worry the purchase of the knife came along with knife dos and don'ts.   Annie-Lauren bought a necklace and a bracelet, and  Daddy/Pappy purchased a new vegetable peeler, and a few other items. The most exciting find was a Shih Tzu puppy that my children named Tux. All in all we were all pleased with our great finds!

Over the course of the weekend there were treausures purchased and miles walked...however, I feel  the most valuable treasure was not found in any booth and could not be purchased for any amount of money.  There is not a price that you can put on the memories that were made.   It was time spent together  riding in  Daddy/Pappy's truck, talking, laughing, listening to Elvis radio, chewing juicy fruit gum, and shopping, shopping, and more shopping. I know that my children will never forget this weekend filled with funnel cakes,  grilled corn on the cob,  giant turkey drum sticks,  shopping until their feet hurt and spending time with their Pappy.  I know that I will not forget it...(my one regret- I did not take a picture of us there.)
