Jesus Loves Me This I Know

Today my family and I worshipped at the First Baptist Church in Elton, Louisiana. They were having a Centennial Celebration and we were invited to attend. I knew that I was going to have the opportunity to see childhood friends and reminisce about Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, summer camps and many other things. I was not surprised at all to see many familiar faces from my childhood. I knew that most of them would be there and had been looking forward to seeing everyone.

However, I was surprised today by the overwhelming sense of gratitude that filled my heart.  As I sat in the pew, where I had spent many Sunday mornings as a child,  I was just so thankful... It was at this very place, that at the age of seven, I was  introduced to and fell in love with Jesus.  It was also  inside these red brick walls that I learned not only to sing, but I also believed...

Jesus loves me this I know...for the bible tells me so...

Today I was so thankful that I had the opportunity to go back and remember... The message is simple and uncomplicated... Jesus loves me, Jesus loves people.  I was thankful for the people that God had placed in my life. They not only told me that message, but lived that message before me. My heavenly father's timing is perfect.. Today was such a sweet day filled with sweet memories and a reminder to me that HIS message is still simple and uncomplicated...
